HAUREN VIEWPOINT HIKE
Embrace Norway’s adventurous spirit and serene beauty with
a hike to the top of Mount Hauren. The ascent will present
glorious views of the natural wonders that surround Olden,
which nestles along the mouth of the Oldeelva River. The
higher you ascend, the more stunning the scenery and the
more invigorating the mountain air. Triumphant, you will reach
the summit 380 meters above sea level for panoramic views.
Sparkling Nordfjord stretches out before you, merging with
sights of snow-capped peaks and pristine forests. From this
lofty vantage point, you will also see the village of Loen and
some of Norway’s oldest farms – which thrive on the glacially
formed moraine soil.

Greenlanders celebrate many events with a kaffemik – a tradition
of inviting friends and relatives over for coffee, tea and cake.
During your visit you’ll participate in this lovely custom and have
the chance to talk to your hosts about their daily lives. You will
also enjoy a presentation of Greenlandic national costume and
observe a demonstration of how it is made by a local woman who
utilises traditional skills that date back centuries.
