This beach-rimmed resort city sits on the beautiful, island-studded Bay of Thailand. Serendipity Beach is a mile-long stretch of white sand that is the island’s prettiest. Wats, or Buddhist temples, are abundant and often modest architecturally, as seen at Wat Otters behind Otres Beach. Visit Wat Lu Pagoda to see a stone statue of a three-headed elephant with a statue of Buddha atop each head. There are even two wats in Ream National Park, a birdwatcher's paradise. On a tuk-tuk ride through the provincial capital, pass the Golden Lions Monument on your way to Phsar Leu (Sihanoukville market) in the heart of downtown.

  • OVERLAND - CAMBODIAN COUNTRY LIFE - 2026 CODE: SIHL05

Become immersed in Cambodian rural life by browsing a pepper plantation, helping reforest the mangroves, joining art workshops and exploring the colonial capital Kampot by tuk-tuk.

Note: this small group program is limited to 12 guests

Special Note: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

    Day 1 – April 3, 2026

Once you have disembarked your ship in Sihanoukville, meet your guide and begin the 3-hour drive to Kampot.

Kampot is an old provincial capital of quiet lanes and colonial architecture, a bit worn but radiating a quaint, welcoming, small-town ambiance. Upon arrival in Kampot, transfer to your hotel for check-in followed by lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Kampot’s local market, the busiest place in town. Food, clothes, jewelry, fish, restaurants, household goods, pretty much everything you can buy in town is in the market, and on the surrounding streets. Stroll through the small, yet alluring town, which features many examples of colonial era architecture.

Continue by Tuk Tuk (2-4 persons per Tuk Tuk) to explore the town and arrive at the workshops of Epic Arts Cambodia Center, developed for local disabled children as a safe haven to establish their own community and receive artistic education. The members of Epic Arts programs are taught gardening, crafting, dancing, painting, and music.

You will participate in several workshops set up by the association which could include painting, learning some sign language and even some dance routines.

After your workshops, a light fruit and nut snack will be served before you enjoy a performance of the Epic Arts

    Cambodia students.

Dinner will be served at the Fish Market Restaurant, a signature venue in Kampot's dining scene. The restaurant is housed in a restored art-deco masterpiece on the banks of the Prek Tek Chhouu River.

Return to your hotel for the night.

    Day 2 – April 4, 2026

After breakfast, transfer to The Kampot Pepper Plantation.

You will be welcomed by a representative of La Plantation who will accompany you as you discover how the famous Kampot Pepper is cultivated and processed, as well as other spices, fruits, and local plants. Following the visit of La Plantation, he will show you their range of peppers and spices and will give advice on how to use them in your cooking.

Lunch is served at the restaurant of La Plantation. Their menu offers a variation of their products, from Khmer specialties to the European dishes of their Rotisserie.

Continue to the Trapeang Sangkae community where you can participate in an environmental project to replant and grow vital mangrove forests in this community. Your visit here includes a trip on a small boat through a local mangrove forest.

Return to your hotel to freshen up before heading to a local restaurant for dinner.

    Day 3 – April 5, 2026

After breakfast, drive to the Phnom Penh International Airport for a onward flight to Bangkok where you will be met and transferred to the pier in Laem Chabang. Here you will re-board the ship.

    DAY 1

Disembark the ship and transfer to the Sihanoukville Airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Here you will be met by your guide and you will transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Enjoy dinner at the hotel with a local traditional performance.

    DAY 2

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then transfer to the Angkor Thom complex. You will visit the Southern Gate of Angkor Thom and the famous Bayon Complex whose giant stone faces have become one of the most recognizable images connected to classic Khmer art and architecture. Another highlight is a visit to the famous Ta Prohm Temple, famous for its forest atmosphere with enormous fig trees. This temple looks just as it did when the first European explorer arrived. Your morning of adventure will be followed by lunch at a local restaurant.

Your day will end with an extensive visit to Angkor Wat. This is the highest and most magnificent temple in Cambodia built by King Suryavarman as a Hinduist temple. His tomb was aptly located on the top tower.
