Description

Admire Athens’ ancient landmarks and coastal beauty on a leisurely sunset drive as a prelude to a traditional Greek dinner. The capital city exudes history, especially through well-known attractions such as the Arch of Hadrian and the Temple of Olympian Zeus that emperor Hadrian completed centuries after its construction began. Photo stops may be made at other historical sites before traveling along the spectacularly scenic coast of Cape Sounion, where you will find the Temple of Poseidon. Although the temple was built in the 5th century B.C., more than a third of the original 34 Doric columns still stand on the marble base. The views from this elevated perch overlooking the sea will be magnificent, especially in the light of the setting sun. A traditional Greek dinner prepared with locally sourced ingredients awaits you at a tavern between the tip of the cape and Athens.
