Land Programs & Hotels

  • Discover the fairytale magic of Denmark through landmark attractions in Copenhagen before traveling outside the capital to explore Egeskov Castle, cosmopolitan Odense and the fishing village of Dragør.

    DAY 1

After flying into Copenhagen, you will transfer from the airport to the Villa Copenhagen Hotel or similar. The remainder of the day will be at your leisure with dinner on your own.

Previously the city’s main post office, your recently (2020) renovated hotel sits right next to Tivoli Gardens and is filled with Scandinavian contemporary art. During your stay you might choose to enjoy the roof-top outdoor, heated lap pool and bar and don’t miss the on-site bakery serving fresh bread, traditional treats and coffee to locals and guests alike.

    DAY 2

You will start the day with a unique visit to the ByBi honey factory and learn about all the work they are doing with bees in and around Copenhagen. They encourage residents to follow their model and become beekeepers to cultivate a regenerative system where bees, flowers and humans thrive. You will learn about their efforts while touring the factory. Sampling honey produced in different parts of Copenhagen will clearly demonstrate how the tastes vary by location and environmental factors.

A hands-on cooking class follows, during which you will learn to make smørrebrød, a traditional Danish open-faced sandwich. This national dish is more complex than it may sound, as there is a whole culture around how to make and eat one of these layered rye bread sandwiches, which you will have for lunch.

Canals are abundant in Copenhagen and there’s no better way to see Denmark’s capital than by cruising the waterways after lunch. Along the way, you will see some of the city’s stunning architecture, which the guide will describe in detail. You will also notice the many urban parks and green spaces, which provide a natural habitat for birds and bees, especially honeybees.

Next take a peek at the theatrical side of Copenhagen on an insider’s tour of the Danish Royal Theatre. Its architectural elements are extraordinary, particularly the ceiling paintings, so be sure to look up. You will also see what goes on behind the scenes as you explore the backstage and the rooms where the theatrical costumes are created. Peering into Queen Margrethe’s private salon will be among the highlights.

Return to your hotel where the remainder of the day and evening are at your leisure. Dinner is on your own.

    DAY 3

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will venture into the outskirts to explore the island of Funen, home to the Renaissance-era Egeskov Castle. Although a noble family lives in the castle, they open it to the public during the day. As you meander through the elegant interior, you may view the banquet hall, the music room and the Victorian room, whose furnishings reflect the family’s heritage.

The castle grounds are just as magnificent as you will discover while walking through the park-like gardens. The castle parks at Fredensborg and Frederiksborg, as well as those of Versailles, inspired the nearly 300-year-old garden design. Hedges, some as high as 25 feet, separate the various themed gardens.

Continuing on, you will head to Odense for lunch before exploring the city. As an introduction to its allure, you will visit the home of famed author Hans Christian Andersen, who was born in Odense. You can expect it to be a fascinating journey into his creative universe and beloved fairy tales such as “The Little Mermaid” and The Ugly Duckling.” By the end of the tour, you will have gained a much deeper understanding of the author and what inspired his creativity.

Although Odense is synonymous with Andersen, you will discover its other charms during free time. The downtown invites walking and there are plenty of shops and attractions worth a look.

After your independent exploration of Odense, you will return to your hotel. The remainder of the evening will be at leisure with dinner on your own.

    DAY 4

After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, you will visit the fishing village of Dragør, which was founded in the 12th century as a garden area that grew produce for the royal family. Over time, herring fishing and processing became a more important enterprise. While walking through the narrow, pedestrian-only streets, you will see dozens of well-preserved buildings from the 18th and 119th centuries.

Around midday, you will transfer to the port to embark on your cruise.

  • Explore historical landmarks that include the royal residence Drottningholm Palace, Sweden’s oldest main street and the warship Vasa, as well as unusual attractions such as a museum celebrating the band ABBA.

    DAY 1

Disembark the ship in Stockholm and meet your guide to begin your exploration of the city.

Your first stop is at ABBA The Museum, an interactive attraction completely dedicated to the Swedish pop band ABBA. Many of the items on display are from the group’s private collection, including their costumes, gold records and plenty of memorabilia. Using the supplied audio guides, you can hear the band tell stories of their rise to stardom and their most memorable concerts. ABBA fan or not, this museum has something for everyone.

Next, visit The Vasa Museum which offers an entirely different experience, as it is home to the warship Vasa. It languished at the bottom of the bay for 333 years before being salvaged almost fully intact and preserved at the museum. Besides viewing this namesake ship, you may browse exhibits that showcase the shipyard that built it, the challenges of life on board and the invaluable role women played in the ship’s construction.

Afterwards, you will transfer to your hotel for check in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    DAY 2

This morning, you will cruise from central Stockholm through Lake Mälaren and on to Drottningholm Palace. This UNESCO World Heritage site is the most well-preserved, 17th-century palace in Sweden and at the same time is representative of all European architecture for that period.

The French-influenced palace was built by architect Nicodemus Tessin the Elder by commission of Queen Hedvig Eleonora. A number of royal personages have since then left their marks on the palace, which is the permanent home of the royal family. The southern wing of the palace is reserved for their use, while the rest of Drottninghom and its grounds are open to the public year-round.

After touring the palace, which is on an island in Lake Mälar, you will dine at a nearby restaurant and then transfer back to the Grand Hotel. The remainder of the day will be at your leisure with dinner on your own.

    DAY 3

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will travel inland to Sigtuna, which King Erik the Victorious founded in 970. Its main street, Stora Gatan, is considered the oldest such road in Sweden. While exploring the historical downtown, you will likely see cryptic rune stones. Remnants of Scandinavia’s Viking past, rune stones were commonly raised as memorials to deceased family members and friends.

Following lunch in Sigtuna, you will head to Uppsala, home to Scandinavia’s oldest university. As you approach the city’s 800-year-old Gothic cathedral, you will first see its twin spires, as they soar nearly 400 feet high. Inside the cathedral, be sure to notice the 14th-century murals depicting the legend of Saint Eric IX, the patron saint of Sweden. A medieval king and a devout Christian, he was slain by his rivals in 1160.

Upon returning to Stockholm, you will spend the remainder of the day at leisure with dinner on your own.

    DAY 4

Enjoy breakfast and check out in time for your transfer to the Stockholm Airport.

Transfers will be coordinated with the departure flight details provided.

  • Explore the fascinating and diverse history of Berlin and its sister-city Potsdam. Spend two-nights at one of the best hotels in Berlin and use your evenings to further explore the city at night, indulge in local cuisine and perhaps enjoy a performance at one of the many theatres in the city.

NOTE: This program includes walking for extended periods of time.

    DAY 1

Disembark the ship in Warnemünde and meet the escort who will accompany the group to Berlin.

The scenic drive takes approximately 3.5 hours during which your escort will distribute water and light snacks. A comfort stop will be made along the way.

Upon reaching Berlin, meet your official guide and commence on an Instagram-worthy sightseeing tour. Stops will be made to briefly explore the iconic landmarks of former West Berlin including the Kaiser-Memorial Church, Kurfürstendamm boulevard, Wittenberg Platz, Victory Column, and Brandenburg Gate.

Following a typical German lunch, your tour continues to former East Berlin, where you will visit landmarks such as the Humboldt Forum, Nikolai Quarter and the Berlin Cathedral. Next, visit the famous Reichstag building where you will have a guided tour of the cupola on the rooftop and a professional photographer will be on hand to assist with getting ‘that perfect picture’. Following this, head to the Käfer Restaurant for a refreshment while enjoying the breathtaking views of the city below.

When the tour has concluded, you will be transferred to your hotel which is located in the heart of the city center East. This 5-star hotel is one of the most prestigious luxury hotels in Berlin and is only a stone’s throw away from the magnificent boulevard Unter den Linden.

A Regent Seven Seas hospitality desk will be available for a few hours after you arrive for any questions as well as dinner or evening sightseeing recommendations. You can also visit Berlin’s official travel website visitBerlin.de for a calendar of events, ticket information and evening sightseeing suggestions.

The evening is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    DAY 2

After breakfast, meet your guide in the lobby and proceed to the monumental Berlin-Tempelhof Airport, which came to symbolize freedom during the logistical masterpiece of the Berlin Airlift. Take a guided inside visit of the now closed airport and learn of its captivating history.

Drive to the historic Markthalle 9, or Marheinicke Halle, and learn more about this historic food market hall which opened in the 1890s. Here, enjoy a cup of coffee while strolling around and taking in the vibrant atmosphere before continuing to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Museum Island.

Upon arrival, take a walking tour amidst the magnificent buildings that date back to Prussian times. The island houses a collection of excellent museums including a wide range of artifacts and art from different historical periods. The buildings themselves are beautiful, with stunning architecture and well-maintained gardens.

After enjoying lunch at a nearby traditional restaurant, your walking tour will continue. Stroll along the Spree River to the Tränenpalast. This crossing hall at the former border between East and West Berlin has a sorrowful history with great importance for the once-divided city. It was in operation between 1962 and 1989 and is now a museum with exhibitions about Berlin during the Cold War period and about the process of German reunification.

Continue towards the Wall Documentation Center where you will learn more about the Berlin Wall and the ugliness of the divisions it created. Next, visit Nordbahnhof, a train station that was a ghost station during the times of the divided city.

Return back to your hotel for some time to relax and refresh before dinner. Later, your escort will collect the group for a coach transfer to your fascinating dinner venue, the almost 200-year old Mampe Liqueur Manufactory. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided visit of the distillery followed by a tasting of their liquors and dinner with a regional menu.

Return to your hotel or stay out and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city by night, making your own way back to the hotel.

    DAY 3

After breakfast and check-out, you day begins with a tour to the city of Potsdam. The first highlight is a visit to Glienicke Palace, where you will admire the interior design of its rooms before strolling across the renowned Glienicker Brücke. This bridge, spanning the Havel River and connecting Berlin and Potsdam, gained significance during the Cold War as the site for exchanging spies between East Germany and West Germany, and was featured in the movie "Bridge of Spies."

Your tour then takes you to the city center of Potsdam, the capital city of the federal state of Brandenburg and formerly the seat of the Prussian Kings. Here, you will see landmarks such as St. Nicholas' Church, the Dutch Quarter, the New Palais, and the Russian Quarter, among others.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before proceeding to the magnificent Sanssouci Palace. Completed in 1747, this palace served as the residence for various Prussian kings and queens, rivaling Versailles in splendor. This stop includes an audio-guided inside visit to the palace and a walking tour through its splendid gardens.

Following this tour, re-board your coach for the 3.5-hour scenic drive back to the port in Warnemünde. Once again snacks and water will be provided, and a comfort stop made along the way.

  • On this overnight program, discover the highlights of Berlin as well as some of the splendid landmarks and palaces of its sister city, Potsdam. From your centrally located hotel, you can enjoy the dining scene and nightlife of Berlin’s bustling city center.

When the tour has concluded, you will be transferred to your hotel which is located in the heart of the city center West. Situated within the newly built Zoofenster building, now the tallest structure in Berlin's city west, your 5-star hotel boasts Art Deco-style design and spectacular views.

    DAY 2

Following this tour, reboard your coach for the 3.5-hour scenic drive back to the port in Warnemünde. Once again snacks and water will be provided and a comfort stop made along the way.
