Enjoy an evening dinner cruise around the Helsinki archipelago during the White Nights, a time in the summer when the sun doesn’t dip far below the horizon so it never gets completely dark. This natural astronomical phenomenon occurs in high-latitude destinations such as Helsinki and the effect is glorious as the capital will be bathed in a lustrous glow. Add the soft twinkling of the city lights and the setting will be even more mesmerizing. As you cruise between some of the hundreds of islands that comprise the archipelago, a local guide will point out and describe the most iconic attractions in fascinating detail. The 18th-century sea fortress Suomenlinna and the modern icebreaker fleet in the North Harbor will be among them. To enhance the experience, you will be served a buffet dinner that features traditional Scandinavian dishes that may include Skagen mousse and Atlantic salmon.
