Take advantage of our best deals and start planning your unforgettable journey to the world's most inspiring destinations.
Tulip lovers, gardeners, photo enthusiasts and history buffs alike – this program is for you as we take you to see the most beautiful spring gardens in the world during Amsterdam’s renowned Tulip Festival. See tulips, daffodils and other spring plants in all their bloom and glory! Also, explore the architectural land marks and world-class museums in Amsterdam and visit several historical districts in the nearby countryside, where you will discover more traditional ways of life.
Note: this program begins in Amsterdam, Netherlands and ends in Piraeus, Greece, where guests will embark the ship. Guests will need to fly into Amsterdam (AMS) to begin this program. An economy class Inter-Europe flight from Amsterdam to Athens on Day 5 is included in this program and will be booked by RSSC’s air department.
Day 1
After arriving at Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport, you will be met by our local ground team at the Schiphol Plaza (main plaza at the airport - at the meeting point sign) and transferred to your hotel in the city.
Hotel check-in time is 3:00pm. We cannot guarantee that rooms will be available before this time; however, luggage storage is available at the Reception Desk. If your flight arrives early in the day, you may wish to book an extra night so a room will be ready upon arrival.
Depending on your arrival time, the afternoon and evening will be spent at leisure and all meals are on your own on this day.
There is plenty to see nearby, such as the Royal Palace on Dam Square and the Anne Frank House. Amsterdam’s nightlife also offers diverse options for dining and entertainment.
Operational note: Due to implemented restrictions on tour coaches in the city center, there will be
a short walk (0.4 miles) from your hotel to the bus staging area for your tours each day.
Day 2
Following breakfast, meet your guide and begin with a drive through the lovely Dutch countryside, towards the Tulip Experience, a family run nursery which was started in 1951.
Explore vibrant tulip fields in full bloom and in the museum learn about the history and significance of tulips in Dutch culture recanted by a member of the originating family. Enjoy interactive exhibits and take in breathtaking views of these iconic flowers. In the « selfie/show garden » you will find one million tulips with seven hundred different varieties! On site you will also find a farmers‘ market, coffee corner, cinema and art exhibitions.
Next, it’s a short drive to the Keukenhof Gardens, one of the most famous flower gardens in the world. Stroll through its beautifully landscaped grounds, featuring millions of tulips, daffodils, and other springtime blooms. To give you an idea of how many flowers you will expect to see, in 2024, seven million bulbs were planted! 2025 will be no different. These vast gardens offer an incredible sensory experience, perfect for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike.
Following your visit to Keukenhof, return to your hotel for an afternoon of leisure. Relax, explore the city, or enjoy some downtime.
In the evening, meet up with the group again and embark on an exclusive dinner canal cruise. This experience includes a 3-course meal with beverages. As you glide through Amsterdam’s historic canals, enjoy stunning views of the city's illuminated bridges and charming architecture, creating the perfect end to a memorable day.
Day 3
After breakfast, take off to the charming town of Delft, renowned for its rich history and iconic blue-and-white pottery. Your first stop is the ‘Royal Porceleyne Fles,’ the only remaining manufacturer of the famous Delft Blue ceramics. Enjoy a guided tour inside, where you’ll learn about the traditional techniques and artistry behind these exquisite pieces.
Next, head to the heart of Delft for a guided walking tour of the city center. Explore its historic streets, picturesque canals, and landmarks like the Oude Kerk (Old Church) and the Markt square. After the walk, enjoy some free time to explore the shops, savor a local lunch, or purchase souvenirs.
In the afternoon, continue with a drive to The Hague, the seat of the Dutch government and the International Court of Justice. Take in the city’s highlights during a guided coach tour, passing by notable landmarks like the Peace Palace, the Binnenhof, and the royal palaces.
Conclude the day with a relaxing drive back to your hotel, reflecting on the beauty and history of both Delft and The Hague.
Day 4
Begin your day with a scenic drive to Zaandam’s famous Zaanse Schans, a picturesque village known for its traditional windmills, wooden houses, and workshops. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided walk through the charming village, where you'll learn about Dutch heritage and craftsmanship.
Following the guided walk, take some free time to explore Zaanse Schans on your own. Visit the working windmills, browse local shops, or watch traditional craftsmen at work, making wooden clogs and cheese.
Next, travel to the historic Schermerhorn Windmill for an inside visit. Step back in time as you explore the well-preserved windmill, learning about its role in Dutch water management and its architectural significance.
Afterward, enjoy a scenic drive through the picturesque countryside, passing through the charming villages of Oosthuizen, Edam, and Volendam. Upon reaching Volendam, you'll have free time to explore the fishing village. Stroll along the harbor, indulge in local cuisine for lunch, and browse the quaint shops.
The journey continues with a short drive to the serene village of Broek in Waterland. A guided tour will introduce you to this tranquil town known for its charming houses and canals.
Day 5
After breakfast and check-out, proceed to the airport for a flight to Athens, Greece as booked by the RSSC Air Team. This flight is not escorted.
Upon arrival, pass through Customs, Immigration and luggage claim after which you will be met by our local ground team in Athens and transferred to your awaiting ship in Piraeus.
If you encounter any flight delays while enroute, guests should proceed to the airline counter for updates. Downloading the free airline app will also keep guests current of any changes and in the event of a cancellation or delay, the airline will notify them, via the app, of their new schedule.

Enjoy the unique opportunity to visit two of the most precious and sacred sites which lie in the most beautiful and unspoiled parts of Northern Greece.
NOTE: This is an extensive 4-day program that covers a lot of ground both on foot and by luxury coach. There is a lot of driving involved. This tour is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties due to the amount of walking, steps and uneven ground.
DAY 1
Upon arrival to the Athens International airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the center of Athens. The remainder of the day and evening are at your leisure with meals on your own.
Overnight at the Divani Caravel Hotel or similar hotel.
Note that check in time at the hotel is at 3:00pm.
DAY 2
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then meet your guide in the lobby to begin your sightseeing tour of Athens.
Begin with a visit to the famous site of the Acropolis. En route you will drive by Constitution Square, the House of Parliament, the Neo-Classical style university buildings, the Royal Palace and the Old Olympic Stadium of Athens.
Arriving at the foot of the Acropolis, one of the most photographed ancient monuments in the world, you will set off with your group on a walking tour to the top. Your guide will stop along the way to brief you on its history. Once you get to the top you will have some free time to explore and take photographs. Admire the ancient temples of Athena Nike and the towering Parthenon as well as the gorgeous view of the city of Athens below.
Note: Expect high temperatures in the summer months and heavy crowds. There are upwards of 100 or more un-even steps to get to the top of the monument. There is a handrail in some spots but not all. Those not wishing to venture to the top can remain at the bottom and wait for the group to return. At the top the ground is uneven. Large bags are not permitted here and will need to be left on the tour bus.
Next you will visit the breathtaking Acropolis Museum – an impressive building that was completed and opened in 2009 and has an exhibition space of more than 14,000 square meters. It houses every artifact found on the rock and on the surrounding slopes, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. It also lies over the ruins of a part of Roman and early Byzantine Athens.
Following your visit of the museum, take a stroll with your group through the enchanting, traditional streets of Plaka, the colorful old quarter of Athens, rich in neoclassical, ancient monuments and Byzantine Churches. Here in the Plaka, you will have a traditional Greek lunch before returning to your hotel where you will have some free time.
In the evening you will be met by your guide and you will transfer to the picturesque Mikrolimano Area in Piraeus where you will dine at Varoulko Restaurant. Lefteris Lazarou, Greece’s top-awarded Michelin Star Chef created the restaurant’s menu, so you will not be disappointed in this fantastic dining experience.
Overnight at the Divani Caravel Hotel or similar hotel.
DAY 3
The next day enjoy breakfast at your hotel and board your coach for the drive to Delphi. The beautiful drive into the land of central Greece will bring you to the magnificent site of Delphi.
Delphi was considered by the ancients to be the physical and spiritual centers of the earth. This shrine of Apollo set nearly 2,000 feet up on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Here was the most respected oracle of antiquity. Even the most intelligent men, who lived during the brilliant civilization of Athens, believed implicitly in the responses of the god. These were given by the inspired priestess, the Pythia, and were interpreted, usually with an ambiguous touch, by the priests. Delphi grew fabulously rich with offerings, and though they have almost all disappeared now, you can admire the ruins and try to picture it as it was during its 1,000 prestigious years.
Walk up the Sacred Way past the beautiful small Treasuries to the Temple of Apollo, location of the oracle; continue to the Museum with its superb collection of votive offerings and statues, including the world-famous Charioteer. A traditional country lunch will be offered at the nearby village of Arachova. After lunch you will board your coach and commence the drive to the town of Kalambaka, after check-in your dinner will be served at the hotel and the evening will be at your leisure. Kalamaba is the picturesque town that sits at the foot of Meteora. After check-in your dinner will be served at the hotel and the evening will be at your leisure.
Overnight at the Divani Meteora Hotel or similar hotel
DAY 4
After breakfast you will board your coach for the visit of the Meteora Monasteries. Admire the extraordinary rocks of Meteora which were formed as a result of the force of the nature and they appear to be suspended in the sky, crested with the celebrated monasteries. Today only six monasteries are inhabited, two of which have become nunneries. You are invited to delve into two of these remarkable phenomena, seemingly floating in the sky and serving as an example of the post-Byzantine era.
After the visit of the Monasteries you will commence your drive to the port of Piraeus in order to board your vessel for your cruise.
NOTE: Scheduled visits are for the Monastery of the Great Meteoron “Megalo Meteoro” and The Nunnery of St. Stefanos “Agiou Stefanou”. Should one be closed it will be substituted with Moni Varlaam.
Steps vary from one to the other - The Monastery of the Great Meteoron has approximately 200 steps, St.Stefanos Monastery has approximately 10 steps and Moni Varlaam has approximately 80 steps.
Coaches are able to drop off guests approximately 300- 500 feet from each Monastery.

Gain a remarkable understanding of the ancient world by browsing key archaeological ruins and historical sites that will reveal the complexities of that Greek civilization, while pausing along the way to sample superb Greek wines.
This is a small group program and thus limited to 14 participants.
DAY 1
Upon arriving at the Athens International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the Kolonaki neighborhood. Following check-in, the afternoon will be free to explore the area on your own. Kolonaki is known for its upscale shopping and trendy bars, so you will have plenty of choices.
Check in time at the hotel is at 3:00pm.
This evening, you will dine at the seaside restaurant Varoulko at the Microlimano marino. Michelin-star chef Lefteris Lazarou created the restaurant menu, so expect a fantastic dining experience with a sea food-based menu. Kindly advise us with any dietary restrictions at least 21 days before arrival. Afterwards, you will return to the hotel to spend the night. Please ensure your flight is scheduled to arrive prior to 5:00pm.
NOTE: should you have any special dietary requirements, kindly advise the Regent Reservations Team to note your land program booking at least 90 days before departing for your program. Any last-minute requests may not be able to be accommodated.
DAY 2
Following breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for the Peloponnese area, where you will have a photo stop at the Corinth Canal. The canal connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea, separating the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland. The canal was dug at sea level and has no locks, unlike many other canals. During the transit, you will learn about early attempts to construct a canal in this location, including a failed attempt during Nero’s reign in 1st century.
You will then proceed to an ancient section of Corinth to view an archaeological site with a surprising mix of ruins. Some of the remains are from a 6th-century BC Greek city, while others are from a 44 BC Roman colony built at the end of Julius Caesar’s reign. Some of the more fascinating highlights include a Christian basilica, the starting lines of a Greek racetrack, a sacred spring with bronze lion’s-head spouts, and the elaborate Roman fountain of Peirene, which according to myth was where Pegasus drank.
The Nemea wine region is among Greece's most important red-wine appellation. The mountains and valleys surrounding the village of Nemea have been producing wine for centuries, mostly from the native Agiorgitiko grape. A wide range of wines are made with this red grape variety, including dry wines and lighter, sweeter ones. While visiting a nearby wine estate, you will sample a selection of distinct wines and enjoy a light lunch.
Continuing on, you will cross the Rio-Antirrio Bridge, one of the world’s longest multi-span cable-stayed bridges and the longest of the fully suspended type. The bridge spans the Gulf of Corinth near Patras, linking the town of Rio on the Peloponnese peninsula, to Antirrio on mainland Greece.
Once on the mainland, you will stop at Nafpaktos, a seaside town known for its lengthy beach and an impressive Venetian castle. The naval Battle of Lepanto occurred just off the coast in 1571. The Ottoman fleet was soundly defeated, marking the end of the western expansion of the Ottoman Turks. Miguel Cervantes, who later wrote “Don Quixote,” lost the use of his left arm during the battle.
Ahead, lie the small coastal towns of Galaxidi and Itea, which you will pass on the way to Arachova where you will spend the evening. Dinner will be offered at the hotel or a restaurant in Arachova.
DAY 3
After an American breakfast at the hotel, you will begin an immensely scenic drive into central Greece, eventually stopping in Delphi. The ancients believed the site to be the physical and spiritual centers of the earth.
You will walk along the Sacred Way, following the same path up Mount Parnassus that the ancient pilgrims took to seek advice from the Oracle of Delphi. The pilgrims would ask the oracle questions about the future, and she would answer somewhat cryptically. Even so, the oracle was famous throughout Greece and far beyond.
You will also browse through a museum at Delphi which houses a superb collection of votive offerings and statues, including the glorious Charioteer, one of the finest bronze statues from ancient Greece.
A short drive will bring you to the village of Distomo and on towards the Monastery of Ossios Loukas, which dates to the 10th century. UNESCO declared the walled monastery a World Heritage site for its outstanding Byzantine religious architecture. Please note that women must wear clothing that covers their knees and shoulders to enter.
Upon returning to the hotel, the remainder of the day will be at your leisure with dinner on your own. For your convenience, a transfer will be provided into town at 5pm, returning at 8pm.
DAY 4
After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Athens with a small deviation to visit the spectacular, family-owned winery Domaine Hatzimichalis. You will enjoy a tasting of its award-winning wines before continuing on to the
port of Piraeus to board the cruise ship.

One of the few mosques with six minarets, the Blue Mosque was constructed in the early 17th century under the direction of Sultan Ahmet I, who was only 19 years old at the time. The exterior of the mosque is notable for its cascade of domes that seem to spill down from the central dome. Inside, the ceiling is lined with the 20,000 blue tiles for which the mosque is named.
You will also see the Hippodrome which is partially excavated to reveal some of the seats, columns, statues, and obelisks that were once part of this arena. Chariot races, coronations and parades all took place at the Hippodrome, which first appeared in 203 A.D. About 130 years later, Constantine the Great expanded and reshaped the arena so it could hold approximately 100,000 spectators.
Next you will visit the 15th Century Topkapi Palace, which was expanded under the reign of almost every sultan over the next 400 years. Today, it is a maze of lavishly decorated buildings and courtyards that reflect its most glorious years as the political center of the Ottoman Empire.
After lunch in the Sultanahmet area proceed to the airport for a flight to Kayseri. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for check in. Dinner is included before you retire for the evening.
DAY 2
Following breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for a full-day, all-encompassing tour of the area. A scenic drive brings you to the Underground city. These troglodyte cave-cities were excavated as early as Hititte times. There are 36 underground cities in Cappadocia and the widest one is Kaymakli Underground city, which consists of 8 floors below ground, only 4 of them are open to the public today. The Underground city has a massive living complex beneath the surface that includes churches, stables, wineries, and storage rooms.
Next, you will continue to Sinasos, a former Greek village, which was an important settlement and religious area between the 9th and 13th centuries. The now abandoned settlement is spread over three valleys, which also contain numerous pointed chimneys with large stems and the remains of a monastery.
Following the visits, drive to Çavusin Village is a small, historic settlement located in the heart of Cappadocia, which can be found nestled between the towns of Avanos and Goreme, within a valley that has gradually widened over time Turkey. Locals still live in the rock-cut dwellings and stone houses. The village has variety of historical sites and churches such as ruins from the Christian monks and the Church of St. John the Baptist, which was carved into the rock in the 5th century.
After lunch at a local restaurant, enjoy an orientation tour and visit to the town of Avanos village which is known for pottery making. The clay has a beautiful reddish hue and comes from the banks of the Kizilirmak River that flows through the town.
The day concludes back at your hotel where you will have dinner and the remainder of the evening at leisure.
DAY 3
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a full-day tour of Cappadocia where the landscape is stunningly surreal, almost lunar-like. Created by volcanic eruptions and shaped by thousands of years of erosion, the terrain features soaring fairy-tale rock chimneys and ancient dwellings carved out of the rocks. Few places on earth are so visually arresting.
Drive towards the town of Uchisar, whose natural rock citadel is the highest point in Cappadocia and visible from a great distance.
Then, it’s on to the Goreme Open Air Museum, which contains the best-preserved examples of cave churches such as Tokali Church. You will notice that the frescoes adorning the walls are still brightly colored, even after centuries of exposure. More usual rock formations await you near Derbent at the fairy chimneys at Urgup.
Next, visit Zelve-Pasabag, which was an important settlement and religious area between the ninth and thirteenth centuries. The now abandoned settlement is spread over three valleys, which also contain numerous pointed chimneys with large stems and the remains of a monastery.
After lunch at a nearby restaurant, visit the nearby Pigeon Valley, named for the thousands of pigeon houses that have been carved into rock cliffs since ancient times.
Following these visits, there will be a shopping opportunity before you return to your hotel for some time to freshen up before a lovely dinner outing. Drive to the Red Valley; one of Cappadocia’s most beautiful natural wonders with its surreal rock formations, pinkish-red colors, and ancient cave churches. Arriving just before sunset and with champagne in hand, watch all the colors blend together to create a spectacular landscape. This is truly the best place to end the day in Cappadocia. From there, you will proceed to Uçhisar for a delicious dinner in one of it’s local restaurants.
Following this spectacular evening, return to your hotel.
DAY 4
Depending on flight time, enjoy breakfast at the hotel or a breakfast box will be provided. Check out and transfer to the airport for a return flight to Istanbul.
Upon arriving in Istanbul, transfer to the Sultanahmet area for lunch. Continue with a tour of the Hagia Sophia, which was originally built as a church and later became a mosque. Today, the Hagia Sophia (meaning “Holy Wisdom”) is a museum containing phenomenal mosaics, Christian and Muslim religious art and remnants of the church that stood here until 532 A.D., when it was burned in a riot.
To conclude, you will have the opportunity to browse through the labyrinthine Grand Bazaar, the largest and the oldest covered marketplace in the world. It contains more than 5,000 shops selling an absolutely amazing range of merchandise. Jewelry, carpets, antiques, old coins, furniture, prayer beads and copperware are only a few of the items in the bazaar, which has been operating since the 15th century.
From the Bazaar, proceed to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure, dinner is on your own.

DAY 1
Disembark the ship in Istanbul and meet your guide before setting out for a glorious day in the city.
Today your tour will concentrate on the Byzantine history of this unique city.
Your first visit will be to the oldest settled areas of the city located around the Golden Horn. Visit Tekfur Palace, The Palace of Porphyrogenitus. This palace served as part of the Blachernae palace complex which was often used by Byzantine emperors starting from the 12th century. As of the 16th century, the building was later named by Europeans as the Great Palace of Constantinople (Palatium Constantini), and later on as the Palace of the Porphyrogenitus. Today it has been restored and serves as a museum.
Proceed next to Pantokrator Monastery which is located on the fourth hill of Constantinople overlooking the Golden Horn. Originally serving as a large monastic complex with a hospital, it was eventually converted into a mosque following the conquest of Istanbul and today it serves as Molla Zeyrek Mosque.
Pass through one of the largest markets in the city called the “Women’s Market” in order to reach the tour coach. From here it’s a short drive to Chora Church which is the second most important Byzantine monument in Istanbul, famous for its magnificent frescoes depicting scenes from the Bible.
Recently renovated, it is now open to the public as a mosque and a museum.
Lunch will be taken at a popular restaurant in the old city.
After lunch proceed to the Hippodrome which has been partially excavated to reveal some of the seats, columns, statues and obelisks that were once part of the arena. Chariot races, coronations and parades all took place at the Hippodrome, which first appeared in 203 A.D. About 130 years later, Constantine the Great expanded and reshaped the arena so it could hold approximately 100,000 spectators.
Your next visit will be at the Hagia Sophia, a former Byzantine church and Ottoman mosque that is now converted to both a mosque and a museum. Although the earliest two versions were destroyed, this Hagia Sophia dates from 537 A.D., and is considered a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture. It served as Istanbul’s principal mosque for nearly 500 years and became the model for the Blue Mosque.
No visit to Istanbul would be complete without viewing the famous Underground Cistern. This giant reservoir used to supply water to the city for many centuries.
Your final stop for the day will be at the Spice Market, a locale so energetic and bustling that it’s difficult to know where to look first. Aromas waft through the air, the cacophonous sounds are constant, and it’s always crowded with shoppers haggling for the best possible prices. In a word, it’s wonderful.
At the end of the tour, return to your hotel where dinner and the remainder of the day are at your leisure.
DAY 2
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel either in the restaurant or the Club Lounge and then meet your guide in the lobby for a tour of discovering the Ottoman highlights of Istanbul.
Being the day with a visit to the incredible Blue Mosque. This is one of the few mosques with six minarets. It was constructed in the early 17th century under the direction of Sultan Ahmet I, who was only 19 years old at the time. The exterior of the mosque is notable for its cascade of domes that seem to spill down from the central dome. Inside, the ceiling is lined with 20,000 blue tiles for which the mosque is so aptly named.
Next you will visit the 15th Century Topkapi Palace, which was expanded under the reign of almost every sultan over the course of four hundred years. Today, it’s a maze of lavishly decorated buildings and courtyards that reflect its most glorious years as the political center of the Ottoman Empire. Time permitting, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Harem section of the Palace that has been the subject of many novels and stories.
Lunch will be enjoyed at a typical local restaurant that serves samples of both Ottoman and Turkish cuisine.
After lunch, enjoy an opportunity to browse through the labyrinthine Grand Bazaar, the world’s largest and the oldest covered marketplace. It contains more than 5,000 shops selling an amazing range of merchandise. Jewelry, carpets, antiques, old coins, furniture, prayer beads and copperware are only a few of the items in the bazaar, which has been operating since the 15th century. Brush up on your bargaining skills for this visit!
Return to your hotel for some time to freshen up and relax before departing for a leisurely sunset cruise on the Bosphorus, the famed strait that connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, and perhaps even more important serves as a boundary between Europe to the west and Asia to the east. Passing palaces, wooden mansions and even modern villas along the way, you will experience Istanbul from an entirely different perspective, one you’ll not soon forget. Along the way, enjoy local drinks and light canapés on the boat. (Note: boat may not be exclusive to the group)
Return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.
DAY 3
On this last day in Istanbul, you will discover the Asian portion of Istanbul. After breakfast and check-out (don’t forget to settle and incidentals), meet your guide and begin your tour.
Cross over from Europe to Asia via the shortest way in the world, the first bridge over the Bosphorus. On the Asian side, you will visit Beylerbeyi Palace, the summer palace of the Ottoman Sultans.
You will have time to stroll at the waterfront and then continue to visit Kuzguncuk, one of the oldest residential areas of the city on the Asian shores. This is the place where Turks, Armenians and Greeks lived in harmony for many years.
At the conclusion of the tour, you will return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure and lunch and dinner are on your own.
At the end of the tour, you will return to the hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure or should you wish, you can accompany your guide on a walking tour of the famous Pera and Galata Districts of the city (Istiklal Street).

After lunch at a local restaurant, you will first visit a medieval Islamic fortress in Cairo known as The Citadel and the adjacent Mosque of Muhammad Ali, which is often called the Alabaster Mosque due to the extensive use of that stone throughout the building. The mosque is the largest such structure in Cairo built during the first half of the 19th century, and it looks impressive even from a distance.
Next, browse Khan El-Khalili, an open-air bazaar established in the 14th century. As you meander through the market’s labyrinthine alleyways, you will find everything from handcrafted jewelry to carpets and clothing. You can likely observe artisans at work and perhaps purchase one of their works.
Later in the day, you will transfer to your hotel for check-in and dinner.
As a special treat, after dinner you will attend a private lecture with a local specialist such as the head of the High Council of Antiquities or perhaps the former Minister of Tourism and Culture. The exact details of the lecture will be provided closer to the event.
DAY 2
Following an early-morning breakfast at the hotel and check-out, you will drive to the Step Pyramid of Sakkara, which overlooks Djoser’s mortuary complex. Dating from 2700 B.C., the Step Pyramid is the oldest stone structure in the world and was designed by Imhotep for King Djoser. The complex also contains 16 other pyramids in various stages of preservation.
Because the necropolis complex was buried beneath the sands for much of the past two millennia, even the sizable mortuary surrounding Djoser’s pyramid was not unearthed until 1924. As a result, many of the mastaba tombs have been superbly preserved with both their structures and lavish interior decorations intact.
At one of the ancient sites, you will have private access to observe an excavation in progress. While there is no telling what you will see, watching the archaeologists at work will be an extraordinary experience.
You will then travel to the legendary Great Pyramid of Giza, the sole remaining Wonder of the Ancient World. Built as a royal tomb for the pharaoh Khufu, who ruled in the 25th Century BCE, it is largest and oldest of a group of three pyramids. The other two pyramids were constructed to hold the mummified remains of the pharaoh’s son and successor Chephren and Chephren’s son, Mykerinus.
Southeast of the Great Pyramid stands the Sphinx, the monument of a mythical creature with the head of a man and the body of a lion. It was carved out of solid limestone around 2650 B.C .and faces east, probably to greet the rising sun and the return of life each day.
Your tour of the Pyramids area includes an optional inside visit to the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops Pyramid), which is made up of approximately 2.3 million blocks of limestone. You will also have panoramic views and photo opportunities of the three Pyramids and the Sphinx.
Note: There are many uneven steps at the entrance to the pyramid. Once inside, there are pathways where you can stand as well as inclined walkways with steps where you will need to bend down while walking. It is also quite warm inside. Guests must be sure-footed, in fairly good physical shape and not prone to claustrophobia. Narrow walkways going up are shared with guests who are coming down. There are no remains inside the tomb.
After visiting the pyramid, you will enjoy a culinary Egyptian food experience at a nearby restaurant. The set menu will include various Egyptian specialties in small portions so you can try them all. The Egyptologist will explain the dishes and their origins.
Finally, you will visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, the world’s largest archaeological museum. Of all its priceless artifacts, the items from King Tutankhamen’s tomb is the highlight, as the full collection has never been displayed in one place before.
After this enlightening experience, you will drive to the port of Alexandria to re-board the ship. The drive is approximately 3 hours. A comfort stop is not included as there are restrooms on the tour coaches.

DAY 1 – May 7, 2025
Disembark the ship in Alexandria, meet your guide and begin the 3-hour drive to Cairo.
No stops are scheduled as the tour coaches have restrooms on board. Eat a hearty breakfast before you go. A boxed lunch will be provided for the drive.
Note: Should the Grand Egyptian Museum not be open (opening date not yet published) then a private after-hours visit will be made to the Egyptian Museum instead and the group will have lunch at a local restaurant in Cairo upon arrival to the city.
Your first visit after lunch will be the area of the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Sphinx. Renowned as one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the last remaining of the ancient world wonders, the Great Pyramid is comprised of 2.3 million stone blocks, each weighing between 2.5 and 15 tons. Exactly how the ancient Egyptians constructed this architectural wonder remains a mystery.
The Sphinx, with the body of a lion and the face of a man, is also massive and towers 72 feet high and stretches 164 feet long. It faces east, greeting the rising sun each day.
View the exterior of each with ample photo taking opportunities.
Next, visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum which is considered to be the biggest archeological museum in Africa and the Middle East where the most important pieces of Egyptian ancient history are on display. One of the highlights of your visit will be King Tutankhamen exhibition hall where the full collection of the Boy King will be displayed for the first time in one place.
Proceed to your hotel for check in and dinner.
DAY 2 – May 8, 2025
Due to the early wake up call, a breakfast box will be provided this morning before the group departs for the Cairo airport. Board a one-hour flight to Luxor where your first visit will be to the Karnak Temple.
Located about two miles north of the Luxor Temple but connected to it by an impressive avenue of sphinxes, the Karnak Temple was the most important sanctuary of ancient Egypt, and the heart of the cult of the god Amon. Each pharaoh added his own contribution to the temple over the ensuing 2,000 years.
The Ptolemies erected the massive first pylon you will see. Past the second pylon, which is guarded by a pair of huge statues of Ramses II, you will find the great hypo-style hall, the largest hall of any temple in the world. It spans 50,000 square feet and contains 134 enormous columns. You may notice that some of the columns still have traces of the brilliant paint that originally covered them. The third pylon leads to the center court, and past the fourth pylon is the 97-foot-high obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut, carved from a solid piece of pink granite.
As you pass through successive pylons and courts, you will journey back in time until you reach the oldest part of the temple, built by the pharaohs of the middle kingdom around 2000 B.C. At the south end of the temple, you will find the sacred lake where ceremonial boats took part in the worship of Amon.
Next, embark on a Dahabeya boat for a cruise along the Nile including lunch. Disembark on the west bank of the city where you will explore the Valley of the Kings hidden in the foothills of the Gourma Mountains.
More than 60 tombs of pharaohs and noblemen have been excavated in this valley. The kings’ formal names and titles are inscribed in their tombs, along with their images and statues. Between the 18th and 20th dynasties, the kings abandoned the Memphis area and built their tombs in Thebes.
Enjoy a special visit to the longest and one of the most beautiful tombs in the valley known as Seti I Tomb. It is still recognized as an elaborately decorated monument from the times of Seti I and his son, Ramesses II.
The most fascinating aspects of the tomb are the well-crafted decorations that brought antiquity to vivid life
Next you will visit King Tutankhamun's tomb where his mummy still rests, and if time permits, you may be able to have a look into one or two other tombs in the area.
Next, a photo stop will be made at the Colossi of Memnon. This structure was originally built as a mortuary temple in Thebes and guarded by two gigantic statues on the outer gates. All that remains today are the 75-foot-high, 1,000-ton statues of Amenhotep III. Though damaged by nature and ancient tourists, the statues are still impressive, nonetheless.
NOTE: there are a series of steps (up to approximately 20 steps per chamber) to go down into the various tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the ground surrounding the tombs is uneven and dusty. It is also extremely hot here.
xt,
The program ends with a flight to Alexandria airport and a one-hour drive to the port of Alexandria where you will rejoin the ship.
