Enjoy a leisurely walk through Gustavia with several stops along the way to sample the island’s French-influenced cuisine and signature beverages. Your culinary immersion will begin with a savory crêpe topped with lemon and sugar or chocolate. A glass of hard apple cider will perfectly complement the treat. An open-faced sandwich known as a tartine will be served at another venue. Chances are, it will be topped with toasted smoked salmon, lemon-flavored Greek yogurt, avocado and sesame seeds. Le Select, the island’s oldest bar, is most famously known as the place where Jimmy Buffet wrote “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” but as you will discover firsthand, their Planter’s Punch cocktail is just as legendary. Still, the most memorable venue may well be the Lounge Barons de Rothschild, an exclusive wine cellar where you will enjoy two glasses of Barons de Rothschild Blanc de Blancs champagne made entirely from Chardonnay grapes.
