Description

Drive into the mountainous national park that looms behind Puerto Plata in a safari-style vehicle as a prelude to relaxing on one of the area’s most beautiful beaches. Before leaving the city, you will stop at the Macorix House of Rum for a tasting of its spirits and to gain an understanding of the characteristics of its premium rums. You will then begin to ascend the densely forested mountain Isabel de Torres at the top of which you will spot a miniature version of the famed Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro and a botanical garden. The community El Cupey occupies the mountain summit and offers extraordinary views of the tropical landscape below. Upon descending, you enjoy free time at Playa Dorado, one of the most popular beaches in Puerto Plata. This spectacular stretch of sand earned a prestigious Blue Flag designation for its water quality, cleanliness and for being eco-friendly.
