Venice, Italy
Nicknamed the “City of Canals,” Venice is built on an archipelago of more than 100 islands formed by about 150 canals. The canals serve as roads in areas that cannot be served by foot or automobile. Quaint cobblestone streets, vast town squares, colorful markets, and Baroque architecture line the historical wonders of this city. Once known as a naval powerhouse, Venice is now more known as a lavish, romantic city that must be visited at least once in a lifetime.
