Melbourne Vintage Train Ride Tour Code: MLB-009 Duration: 4 hours

Experience the beauty of Melbourne's surrounding countryside in a unique new way during a ride aboard a vintage, narrow-gauge steam train: one of the world's finest preserved railways.

Depart the pier for the 1-hour drive east through the suburb of Ferntree Gully, and on to the quaint township of Belgrave. Upon arrival, you will board the Puffing Billy, a vintage, air-cooled narrow gauge steam train more than 100 years old. You will then proceed for an approximate 1-hour journey through the Dandenong Mountains. Along the way, you can sit and relax on the authentic bench-style seating, and take in the picturesque scenery as your train weaves its way through the scenic countryside.

Upon reaching Emerald, you will re-board your coach and depart for a brief overview of Melbourne's highlights before returning to the pier.

Please note: The drive from the pier to the Belgrave Train Station is approximately 1 hour in each direction. This tour involves approximately 400 yards of walking. Boarding the train requires some agility, as the entrance to the carriage is narrow. This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or guests who utilize a wheelchair. The order of sites visited may change, and the itinerary may be reversed due to the Puffing Billy's timetable. The steam locomotive may not be used on fire-danger days, and a diesel engine may be substituted. The Puffing Billy train is not air-conditioned.
