Social Hostess Job Description Entertain our guests with the highest levels of personal concern. Assist the Cruise Director in organizing, managing, and implementing the Entertainment and Activity Program for the cruise. 2.RESPONSIBILITIES Guest Experience Meets and exceeds guest expectations / ensures complete guest satisfaction Socializes with guests Demonstrates genuine concern for guests’ well-being at all times Proactive approach to problem solving Operational and Administrative Assist the Cruise Director in all Entertainment Departmental matters that also includes assuring a fun-filled cruise for our guests Hosts dinner tables, socializes at tea every day and especially on Sea Days Leads activities and assists teammates with their activities as needed. Escorts the Captain and guests to his dinner tables on Captains Welcome Aboard and Repeaters Party nights Greets and de-greets at the door for shows and lectures Greets at Embarkation, Disembarkation, and at Gangway as needed or scheduled Socializes at every party Assist Cruise Director with Sunday services if a priest is not on board; Hosts craft activities Runs the Daily Quiz program, including putting quiz out in the morning, grading in the afternoon, and delivering cruise points earned In charge of redemption of cruise points at the end of each cruise in conjunction with the Assistant Cruise Director Assists Cruise Director with the induction of new cruise staff • Participates in and promotes the Signature Service Training Program • Incorporates Signature Service standards of behavior in daily work in the areas of: o Creating memories and positive experiences for guests o Presenting yourself professionally o Anticipating guest needs o Completing guests requests and needs o Handling guest challenges o Improving the guest experience Social 1. Maintains positive relationships with guests and colleagues 2. Respects the privacy and rights of colleagues 3. Promotes cooperation and teamwork Safety Participates in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions from ship’s command Complies with company safety and pollution prevention regulations PREFERRED SKILLS MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Education and Experience College Degree suggested, but not required Previous Cruise Ship, Resort Staff, or Camp Councilor experience a must (prefer previous Social Hostess experience) Candidates must be Respectful, Creative, Energetic, and Resourceful; Understanding of the highest level of service; Excellent administrative skills; Strong leadership skills and practice ‘leadership by example; Outgoing personality, open minded and flexible; Ability to work in an international environment; Ability to perform well under pressure; Excellent appearance and excellent social skills; Well organized;
