4-Wheel Buggy Adventure
Duration: 3 1/2 hours
Tour Code: LAR-008
Zip through the lush Dominican countryside in an open, four-wheel buggy made specifically for exhilarating off-road adventure.
It's a scenic drive south from La Romana into the countryside that is so beautiful in this part of the island. Upon arriving at a ranch near the village of Benerito, you'll be briefed in how to safely and efficiently operate a four-wheel buggy and an All Terrain Vehicle, both of which you can drive through the landscape.
As you ride along the rural paths, you'll see fields of sugar cane and pass by small villages, known as bateyes where you can observe traditional rural life. You'll have plenty of time to zip around and immerse yourself in the local culture. After your ride, enjoy a snack of fresh tropical fruit and feel free to cool off in the placid waters of the Chavón River. The banks are almost entirely covered with vegetation, just one of the reasons the river has doubled for other jungle-like locales such as Vietnam in the war epic "Apocalypse Now." After a bit of free time, you'll return your vehicle and re-board your coach for the drive back to the pier in La Romana.
Please note: While there is limited walking on this tour, guests should be in good physical condition. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests, those with mobility concerns, back or neck problems, heart conditions or pregnant women.
