Cayo Levantado, Dominican Republic-port

Become the perfect beachcomber on the paradise island of Cayo Levantado with its brilliant white sand and sparkling, pristine turquoise water. Explore the entire island on foot. Then find a hammock strung between swaying coconut palms. Laze the day away lulled by the breeze and a few tropical beverages served in containers carved out of fresh pineapple. Move to the beat of live salsa and merengue music. Or set sail to Samana to explore waterfalls and underwater caves. Sample the local cuisine – succulent barbequed pork and chicken, fresh caught lobster, shrimp and scallops – as delicious as you’d expect in such a dreamlike setting.

For the adventure lover, this tour gives you multiple exciting ways to explore Samaná's natural beauty. Your tour starts at the pier with a scenic drive along the coast to the marble mines area where you will mount your bikes and pedal your way to the mines. Your unhurried trek to the mine takes you along the base of an imposing 300-foot-high cliff that seems to stretch along for miles. Arriving at the site of the abandoned marble mine, it's an easy walk to the Boca del Diablo blow-hole where you'll find some unique flora along with the anticipated pressurized spouting of water.

Leaving Boca del Diablo, you'll rejoin your transportation and take a short drive to Rincon Beach. It's here that the water portion of your tour commences when you board your kayak for a fun and exhilarating paddle. Returning from kayaking, a short break is provided for you to relax on the sandy beach or take a refreshing dip in the ocean. Finally, it's time to head back to the pier.

Please note: This tour is not recommended for guests who utilize a wheelchair or those with mobility concerns. Guests should be in good physical condition. Flat walking or hiking shoes with a closed-toe and non-slip sole are strongly recommended as well as comfortable clothes, swimsuit, towel, a hat, sunglasses and sun protection. Guests taking part in any water activities do so at their own risk and responsibility and must sign a release form before being allowed to take part in the tour.
