Take a step back into Medieval times during this visit to Scotland's extraordinary Dunvegan Castle.
Depart the charming Port of Portree for the drive west across the lovely Isle of Skye to Dunvegan Castle, seat of the Clan MacLeod chiefs since the 13th century. Dunvegan Castle is one of the greatest and most renowned among the Hebridean strongholds, and the only one to have been continuously owned and occupied by the same family for 8 centuries.
During your tour of Dunvegan Castle, an assortment of priceless heirlooms will be displayed, including some that descended in the hands of the Chiefs of MacLeod since Medieval times. You'll see such treasures as the Dunvegan Cup, mysterious Fairy Flag and Rory Mor's Horn, and explore the lovely gardens that surround the waterfall known as Rorie Mor's Cascade.
You'll enjoy Scotland's scenic landscapes, including the famous Cuillin Mountains, on the return drive to Portree and your ship.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 1-hour of walking and there are stairs to negotiate at the Castle. The tour is not available to guests who utilize a wheelchair and not considered suitable for those with mobility concerns. Weather appropriate clothing, umbrellas and flat comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
