Duration: 2 hours

Tour Code: ISF-006

This delightful walking tour has you observing the locals in their daily lives as you navigate your way on foot through the largest and liveliest town in the West Fjords.

Walking through the Isafjordur town center, where the old streets and houses are like none others found in the country, is a wonderful way to experience what daily life is like here. Isafjordur plays a significant role in the history of Iceland and many well-known and eccentric people have lived here and still do.

Joining your guide at the pier, you will commence a leisurely stroll around the town, during which you might meet the barber playing his accordion, the baker training for the marathon, or perhaps even see the goldsmith paddling in his kayak. Take time to soak in the relaxed ambiance of the town as you enjoy the many interesting sights around town, including the Maritime Museum.

Following you guided tour of the town, you will be escorted back to the pier where your tour concludes.

Please note: This tour includes approximately 2 hours of moderate walking. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and not recommended for those with mobility concerns. Weather appropriate layered clothing; a water/wind-proof jacket, and flat, comfortable walking shoes with a non-slip sole are suggested.
