Ancient Bali
Duration: 5 3/4 hours
Tour Code: BPD-4216
Explore the evolution of Bali during this scenic and informative half-day visit to Tenganan and the Karangasem Palace.
Depart the tender landing pier for the 30-minute drive to the Balinese village of Tenganan. This unique community descended from the island's original inhabitants, and the lifestyle of its Bali Aga people has changed little since pre-Hindu times.
Next, you will proceed east to the town of Karangasem, which suffered extensive lava damage during the 1963 eruption of Mount Agung. Upon arrival, you will visit the Royal Palace, whose unique architecture blends European and Eastern influences.
After touring the palace grounds, you will continue on to the Rama Ocean Resort. You will be served refreshments and traditional snacks while relaxing in this oceanfront setting, and entertained by a local group performing Balinese dances in their colorful traditional dress.
Following your visit to the resort, you will re-board your coach for the return drive to the pier.
