Seoul (Incheon), South Korea-port

Inchon, located on the west coast of South Korea, is regarded as part of the greater Seoul metropolitan area due to its close proximity to the city. During the Korean War, Inchon was the site of the Battle of Inchon, when United States troops landed to relieve pressure on the Pusan Perimeter and to launch a United Nations offensive northward. The city was also the site of a Japanese POW camp during World War II.

Seoul's traditions, landmarks and daily life are yours to discover during a picturesque orientation tour of this historic city.

Depart the pier for the scenic, 1-hour drive to Seoul. Upon arrival, you will pass by the Presidential Offices, known as the Blue House. Your next stop is the Jogeysa Temple. Founded in 1395, this temple is the center of Zen Buddhism in Korea, and the main temple of the Jogye order.

Next, your drive continues on to Insadong, known as Mary's Alley. The heart of Seoul's antique and art district, Insadong is home to dozens of galleries and shops selling antiques and traditional crafts.

On the way back to the pier you will make a stop at Deoksu Palace which was once a temporary residence for many Korean royaltes. This palace includes some of the best examples of royal architecture of the Chosun Dynasty. While located at the corner of the busiest intersection of downtown Seoul, Deoksu Palace is considered one of Seouls most elegant palaces.

Please note: Deoksu Palace is closed on Mondays and will be replaced with a visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace.
