    Duration: 5 1/2 hours

Revel in the scenic beauty above Da Nang by riding one of the world's longest and highest cable car systems to the top of magnificent Bana Hill, once the playground for the colonial French.

Depart from the pier and begin a scenic drive south through verdant Bach Ma National Park and on to Da Nang. Upon entering the city, you'll drive along Red Beach, where American troops first landed in Vietnam in 1965, and then on to scenic Bana Hill, which is covered in thick tropical vegetation. Considered a honeymoon destination, it's easy to see why as the natural beauty is stunning in every direction. From this vantage point you'll enjoy a literal bird's-eye view of the surroundings by riding a cable car to the top of the hill.

The modern cable car system here has some impressive statistics, being more than three miles long and from bottom to top, spanning two-thirds of a mile. Even the station where you board is a record-setter, as it is the largest in Southeast Asia.

Prepare to be awed by the countryside, as you pass over forested mountains dotted with pagodas and the remains of 19th-century villas built by the French. Along the way, you will leave your first cable car and do some exploring, viewing some of these colonial villas, where the wealthy French once retreated to take advantage of the cool temperatures. Boarding a second cable car, you'll resume your ascent to the top of Bana Hill, where more fabulous views and historic homes await, including a wine cave. Later, you'll enjoy a cup of coffee before re-boarding the cable car for the ride back down to the foot of the hill where your coach awaits to transfer you back to Chan May.

Please note: This tour includes approximately 2-hours of moderate walking over mostly uneven surfaces and there will be steps to negotiate. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and may not be suitable for those with mobility concerns who are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. The tour is not recommended for those who suffer from a fear of heights. Light weight, comfortable clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; sunscreen; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
