It is time to experience Norway's unparalleled natural beauty and spectacular views during this visit to historic Geiranger. Since 2005, the Geirangerfjord has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it's easy to see why.
Come ashore via tender to the pier in Geiranger where upon arrival, you will join your guide and commence a coach tour of this small village. Recognized as one of Norway's best-known tourist destinations, Geiranger presents an ever-changing kaleidoscope of mountain farms, waterfalls, lakes and streams that unfolds before your eyes as your coach ascends the winding mountain road. Driving past Lake Djupvatn, you will make your way up the hairpin road to Mount Dalsnibba. From Dalsnibba's summit 4,900 feet above sea level, you'll enjoy superb views of magnificent mountain peaks and the Geiranger Fjord below. After a stop for photos, you'll proceed to Djupvasshytta Lodge, where coffee and danish pastries will be served. Enjoy some free time to browse through the souvenir shop, or take a short walk along the lake before re-boarding your coach for the return to Geiranger,
On the way back to the pier, an additional photo stop will be made at the Flydal Viewpoint to take pictures of Geiranger and the fjord where your ship is anchored in the bay. The tour concludes at the pier in Geiranger.
Please note: This tour is mostly panoramic; however, it does include some steps to negotiate at the restaurant. The tour is not available to guests who utilize a wheelchair and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Casual, weather appropriate warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes are suggested. Guests should have some local currency available as some of the public restrooms in Geiranger require this (approximately 5 Kroner per visit). The order of sites viewed or visited may vary.
