3 NIGHTS/4 DAYS
Day 1
Upon arrival in Beijing International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Meals are on your own this day, spend the this day/evening at leisure.
Day 2 (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included)
Following breakfast, enjoy a scenic ride to the Great Wall at Juyongguan. Explore the amazing Great Wall, actually a series of walls first constructed over 2000 years ago in an attempt to ward off northern nomads. Following lunch, continue to one of the Ming Tombs. Learn more about the burial rituals employed during the Ming dynasty before returning to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Peking duck dinner at a renowned local restaurant.
Day 3 (Breakfast included)
Following breakfast, enjoy an early breakfast in the hotel before venturing to the Temple of Heaven. Initially built in 1420, this is the site where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worship heaven and pray for a bumper harvest. It is listed in the World Heritage in 1998. The main structure in the vast compound is the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, a magnificent triple-gabled circular building. Completely wooden, without any nails, it is one of the architectural wonders of ancient China. The Temple of Heaven is also a public park where local people begin their day with such morning activities as playing Tai Chi, singing Peking Opera or writing Chinese calligraphy. You are free to walk around the pine-lined ground or take part in the Tai Chi exercise! After the visit, transfer back to the hotel and enjoy rest of the day on your own exploration of the city.
Day 4 (Breakfast and Lunch included)
After breakfast at the hotel, visit impressive Tian'anmen Square, the largest public square in the world and site of many important events in Chinese history. Then, visit the Forbidden City, home to the emperors in the Ming and Qing dynasties and a 250-acre complex of pavilions, halls, courtyards and gates showcasing some of the most important treasures of China's imperial past. After lunch at a local restaurant, transfer to Seven Seas Voyager for embarkation.
