Visit the former site of the World Trade Center and browse the poignant exhibits in the 9/11 Memorial and Museum that recount the terrorist attacks in 2001 and 1993.

After departing from the pier, you will travel along the west side of Manhattan and soon arrive at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, a moving tribute to the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2011. The site also honors the six people killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993.

Upon entering the 9/11 Memorial Museum, you will spend nearly two hours browsing the exhibits at your own pace. The museum tells the story of 9/11 and the 1993 bombing through multimedia displays, narratives and a collection of artifacts that include photographs, personal effects and expressions of tribute and remembrance. Descending to the exhibition level, you will pass the historic Survivor Stairs, where hundreds escaped with their lives on 9/11. The iconic “Last Column” that survived the devastation is also on display.

At the conclusion of your self-guided tour, your guide will meet you at the escort and walk with you to the 9/11 Memorial, which features two reflecting pools that have thirty-foot waterfalls cascading down their sides. They sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood. The names of the 2,982 people who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into the bronze panels at the edge of the pools. You may also view the “Wall of Faces” that features portraits of the victims and honors those who died.

After spending a reflective hour or so at the Memorial, you will rejoin your coach and travel back to the pier.

Please note: This tour includes approximately 2 1/2 hours of moderate walking/standing that includes some cobblestone surfaces to negotiate. The sites are wheelchair accessible and therefore; this tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach, and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability.
