Spend a delightful day independently exploring famed Whistler Village and its lovely alpine setting, before heading to Vancouver, where you will enjoy its abundant natural beauty and historical attractions.

    DAY 1

After disembarking the ship, you will drive north into the surrounding mountains toward Whistler Village. Along the way, you will stop at the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park.

The 450-foot, pedestrian-only bridge crosses a deep gorge of the Capilano River. Walking across the bridge, you can actually feel it sway. Upon reaching the other side, you will follow a series of platforms that wind through a primordial forest and offer wonderful views.

Continuing on, you will drive along the winding and immensely scenic Sea to Sky Highway on the way to Whistler, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Here you will check into the Fairmont Chateau Whistler in Whistler Village. Check in is at 4:00p.m. Although every effort will be made to have rooms ready before this time, this cannot be guaranteed. The remainder of the day is at leisure with meals on your own. (NOTE: on the NAVIGATOR August 5, 2015 sailing, the group will stay at the Westin Resort Whistler due to unavailability at the Fairmont)

Located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler offers a luxurious alpine setting, exceptional dining, and a relaxing spa. The concierge team will assist with planning your free time in the hotel and around Whistler Village.

    DAY 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, the entire day is yours to enjoy in whatever manner you prefer. Depending on the time of year that you visit, you might ride a fully enclosed gondola up the slopes, go hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, zip lining or browse Whistler Museum, much of which is devoted to Whistler's Olympic story.

Whistler Village offers a variety of fine dining, extraordinary shopping and highly entertaining events year-round. There is simply no end to the activities and because there isn't a formal schedule you can spend the day doing whatever you find most appealing.

(NOTE: on the NAVIGATOR August 5, 2015 sailing, the group will stay at the Westin Resort Whistler due to unavailability at the Fairmont)

    DAY 3

Following breakfast and check out of the hotel, you will follow the stunning Sea to Sky Highway to Vancouver. Upon arrival you will check in to your hotel, the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel, and then have some free time to enjoy lunch on your own. In the afternoon you will be met at your hotel and you will begin your Vancouver City Tour starting with Stanley Park. At nearly 1,000 acres, it is one of the world’s largest urban parks. Sprawling across a peninsula covered by rainforest, it juts into the sea, providing an unspoiled world for an abundance of wildlife. One of the most scenic spots is Prospect Point, where you will pause to take in the spectacular views of the inner harbor, North Shore Mountains and Lions Gate Bridge.

Next, you will see the collection of colorful totem poles at Brockton Point, an area that features enlightening open-air displays on the Coast Salish First Nations. Then, from the comfort of the coach, you will drive through Vancouver’s most historical neighborhoods, including Chinatown, Yaletown and Coal Harbour.

Arriving in Gastown, you will enjoy free time to stroll along the cobbled streets, which are illuminated by antique gaslights at night. Named after “Gassy” Jack Deighton, a Yorkshire seaman who arrived in 1867 to open the area’s first saloon, Gastown was Vancouver’s first urban center. Be sure to see its quirky urban timepiece, the Steam Clock at Water and Cambie streets, which gives a steamy rendition of the Westminster chimes every 15 minutes, drawing its power from the city’s underground steam-heat system.

Returning back to the hotel, the remainder of the day is at your leisure, allowing you time to settle in and relax. Dinner is on your own, and there are plenty of restaurants in the hotel and within easy walking distance.

    Day 4

After breakfast and check out, you will transfer to the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) for your flight. For guests with later flights, luggage storage will be available at the hotel.
