Light Activity

This brief but very enjoyable tour gives you a personalized look at some of Wrangell's most popular attractions, all in the comfort of a 7-passenger van.

Greeting your guide at the pier, you will board your van and set-off on a fully narrated drive that gives you a great orientation of the island. During your exploration of the island, four great sites are visited, the first being the Kik-Setti Totem Park. After a short stop, you'll next make your way to the Wrangell Museum, which houses a rich assortment of over 5,000 historic photos, native artifacts, a collection of Tlingit petroglyphs, fishing, mining and logging displays.

Continuing on, you'll visit Chief Shakes Tribal House where you will hear a Tlingit legend and see family heirlooms such as goat horn spoons & traditional regalia along with discovering what is in a "Tlingit Lunch Box".

Your final stop is Petroglyph Beach where you will learn about anthropological findings of rock carvings dating 8,000 years before the Tlingit tribes. You will also have the opportunity to observe a petroglyph rubbing demonstration. Relax and enjoy a tasty snack while overlooking the beach before it's time to transfer back to the pier.

Please note: This tour includes minimal walking; however, the sites are not wheelchair accessible and it is not available to guests who utilize a wheelchair. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Casual, weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable, flat walking shoes are suggested. The order of the sites visited or viewed may vary.
