Bodrum, Turkey-port

Located in the southwestern corner of Anatolia, Bodrum is a seacoast town in which sleek yachts are anchored in twin bays beneath the walls of a medieval Crusaders’ castle. The town owes its fame to a man long dead (Mausolus) and his famous “Mausoleum,” one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Bodrum’s other claim to fame comes from Herodotus, the “Father of History,” and the first person to write a comprehensive world history of the West.

Experience the spectacular beauty of the Bodrum Peninsula during this relaxing, half-day tour of its lovely bays.

Thanks to strictly enforced building regulations, the Bodrum Peninsula has retained the splendid beauty and charm of its seafront fishing villages. This is the ideal spot for rest and relaxation, and for dining in comfort at one of the many seafood restaurants along the small waterfront.

Depart the pier for the panoramic drive by coach to Gumusluk Bay. Upon arrival, a visit will be made to either Gumusluk or ancient Myndos, two popular tourist locations nestled along the Bodrum Peninsula. Next, you will continue to Turkbuku, a large, wide bay bordering Gölköy to the south and Türkbükü to the west. The scenic tourist locations on the Gölköy receive meltem, a refreshing offshore breeze during the summer months, and offer many splendid photo opportunities over the bay. You will find an abundance of charming hotels and restaurants during your visit to Turkbuku. A stop will be made at one of the area's finest boutique hotels for swimming and a refreshing beverage while taking in the beautiful views and photo opportunities.

At the conclusion of the tour, you will re-board the coach for the return drive to the pier.

Please note: Guests wishing to swim are encouraged to bring swimwear, a towel, and a change of clothing or cover-up. Uncooperative weather may restrict the swimming opportunities.
