Explore the picturesque bays and charming villages along the Turkish Riviera during this panoramic tour of Marmaris and its splendid surroundings. Marmaris was a peaceful fishing village less than 20 years ago, but today, this Turkish Riviera town offers a true vacation atmosphere.
Departing the pier, you will first drive to Armutalan and then on to the village of Orhaniye. Always popular with yachters, it has been described as one of the prettiest bays in the Mediterranean. This typical fishing village offers a scenic setting of deep blue sea, tall green mountains and fishing boats jostling amongst the yachts. A few hotels, restaurants, traditional market shops and colorful cafés dot the waterfront area, adding to the ambience.
Next, reboard your coach and proceed past the long sand bar at Kizkumu Beach en route to Bayir. One of the area's biggest villages, Bayir is known for its industrious people and the massive, 2,000-year-old plane tree found in the village square. During your visit in Bayir, you will be treated to a refreshment at one of the local cafés.
From the town of Bayir, your tour continues on to the very green and cozy atmosphere of Icmeler. This resort area that is located at the western end of Marmaris bay, attracts many tourists looking for a truly relaxing holiday. Icmeler is named for its famous springs whose water was said to be good for the digestive system. Today, five star hotels line its noted beach, while the older residential area nestles under the hills at the back of the town. Every morning there is a flow of people from Marmaris to Icmeler, drawn by the fine beaches and modern discos attract a similar flow every evening. After passing through Icmeler, a brief photo stop is made at Pamucak, which overlooks the Icmeler area, before returning to the pier.
