Mykonos
Steeped in Greek mythological history, Mykonos was named after Apollo’s grandson, Mykons, and was the location of the grand battle between Zeus and the Gigantes. Today, this Cycladic island is one of Greece’s most adored destinations due to its picture- postcard setting and growing nightlife. Mykonos is a superb example of Cycladic architecture, and by law even new buildings have to be built in the same style of whitewashed, organic, cube-like buildings.
The following Shore Excursions are available for this port on this cruise, and may be reserved beginning 180 days before the cruise begins.

Behold the idyllic, centuries-old beauty of Mykonos during this picturesque island tour, and a visit to a 16th century monastery.
Depart the pier for the 30-minute drive by coach towards the beach of Agios Ioannis. Along the way, you will take in splendid views of the island of Delos, and pass the luxury hotels, tavernas and yachts anchored off Ornos Beach. After a brief photo stop at Agios Ioannis, you will pass the beaches of Kalafatis and Agia Anna en route to the traditional village of Ano Mera. Upon arrival, you will take a guided walking tour of the nearby 16th-century Panagia Tourliani Monastery before proceeding to the peaceful village square for some Greek appetizers and ouzo.
Next, you will visit the town of Mykonos, named Little Venice due to its striking resemblance in design to the famous canal city. Upon arrival, you will take a guided walking tour along its narrow whitewashed streets. A stop will be made at a traditional, 15th-century bakery that is still in operation, and one of the few bakeries in Greece still using wood-burning ovens. You will also see the island's trademark windmills, white houses and churches, and beautiful bays and beaches.
Following your tour, you may choose to re-board your coach for the return drive to the pier, or remain in town and return to the ship independently by taxi (not included) or on foot.
Please note: Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes for this tour, which will require moderate walking for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes over uneven surfaces. This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility, or for guests who utilize a wheelchair. The drive time to Agios Ioannis is approximately 30 minutes. The drive time to the beaches of Kalafatis and Agia Anna is an additional 30 minutes.
