The island's history is full of battles, indicative of Corfu's turbulent position that lasted until modern times with unification with modern Greece in 1864. Corfu offers a combination of cosmopolitan and time-honored Greece. As well as a flower-strewn countryside and Adriatic-style villages, Corfu has splendid coastal scenery and some excellent secluded beaches.

Explore the scenic countryside, coastal beauty and charming village life in Greece during this mountain bike expedition through Corfu.

Depart the pier via coach for the drive to the MTB Station in Dassia, where you'll select your bike and receive all necessary instructions. Accompanied by your experienced local guide, your mountain bike expedition will commence with a short and easy uphill climb to the village of Kato Korakiana.

Upon arrival, a brief rest stop will be made at a traditional coffee shop, or kafeneio, before continuing up the narrow asphalt road to Ano Korakiana. There, you'll see one of the most colorful and traditional villages of Corfu resting on the foothills of Mt. Pantokrator, and marvel at the spectacular views and photo opportunities over the inner plains of the island, or Land of the Gods. Next, you'll ride through a narrow paved alley to picturesque Aghios Markos. This old Venetian settlement features a lovely Byzantine Chapel and stone houses, many of which have been carefully restored to their original condition by their owners. At the local taverna, you'll enjoy a light but hearty meze accompanied by local village wine before making your way down the hill towards the blue sea. Follow the coastal road to the MTB Station, where your awaiting coach will take you back to the ship.

Please note: This is a very challenging and strenuous bike ride that combines uphill sections with easier parts. Although the level of difficulty depends upon each participant's level of fitness, this tour is recommended only for guests in very good physical condition, as a majority of the biking trail is uphill. This tour is for pre-booking only.
